Glossary · Clinical
Protection against the longer UV rays linked to skin ageing. It is measured in vitro to ISO 24443 or in vivo to ISO 24442. In the EU the UVA protection factor should be at least one third of the labelled SPF, and broad-spectrum claims typically need a critical wavelength of at least 370 nm.
Clinical and instrumental data turn a marketing promise into a claim you can defend with regulators, retailers and consumers.
Guires CSL formulation, testing, clinical and regulatory teams work with UVA protection on client projects every week, from the first brief to the final product file.
